1. Question Tag

                कधी कधी बोललेल्या वाक्याला एक छोटासा प्रश्न विचारला जातो यालाच question tag असे म्हणतात. अर्थात या वाक्याचा हेतू हा प्रश्न विचारणे हा नसून बोललेल्या वाक्याचे समर्थन करणे हा असतो.

·         Question Tag साठी दोन महत्त्वाच्या गोष्टी:-

1) सहाय्यकारी क्रियापद (Helping Verbs):-

am, is, are, was, were, shall, should, will, would, can, could, has, have, had,do, does, did, etc.

 

2) सर्वनाम (pronoun):-

पुरुष	He
स्त्री	She
मानवेतर प्राणी/वस्तू	it
अनेकवचनी सर्वनाम	they

I, we, he, she, it, they हे वाक्यात आले असतील तर ते जसेच्या तसे घ्यावे.

Question tag process:-  दिलेले वाक्य लिहून घ्यावे, त्यानंतर पूर्णविराम ऐवजी स्वल्पविराम द्यावा. त्यापुढे वाक्यातील helping Verb घ्यावा व त्याला n’t (not) जोडावे व शेवटी कर्त्याचे सर्वनाम लिहून प्रश्नचिन्ह द्यावा.

 

रचना:-

दिलेले वाक्य + स्वल्पविराम + H.V.+ n’t + सर्वनाम + ?

 

·        Question Tag साठी वापरली जाणारी पाच प्रकारची वाक्ये:-

I) सहाय्यकारी क्रियापद असलेले वाक्य:-

                                                                   i.            You are a good person.

 You are a good person, aren’t you?

                                                                 ii.            He is a good student.

He is a good student, isn’t he?

                                                              iii.            Gopal is a clever boy.

Gopal is a clever boy, isn’t he?

                                                              iv.            Seema was crying.

Seema was crying, wasn’t she?

 

                                                                 v.            We will pass the exam.

We will pass the exam, won’t we?

                                                              vi.            Boys were playing football.

Boys were playing football, weren’t they?

                       

 

                          II) सहाय्यकारी क्रियापद नसलेले वाक्य:-

 वाक्यात क्रियापद नसेल तर मुख्य क्रियापदाच्या काळाला अनुसरून do, dose, did यांपैकी एकाची मदत घ्यावी.

 

Ex. 1) We go to school regularly.

            We go to school regularly, don’t we?

       2) Rohan speaks English.

            Rohan speaks English, doesn’t he?

       3) Merry went home.

            Merry went home, didn’t she?

 

III) am चे वाक्य:-

      Question tag करताना नेहमी am ऐवजी are लिहावे.

Ex. 1) I am busy.

           I am busy, aren’t I?

      2) I am ready, aren’t I?

 

IV) आज्ञार्थी वाक्य (Imperative sentence):-

आज्ञार्थी वाक्यात कर्ता दिलेला नसेल तर तो you हा असतो. व आज्ञार्थी वाक्याची कृती ही भविष्य काळात घडणारी असते. म्हणून shall/will घ्यावे. म्हणजे Q.T. won’t you/will you असा होईल.

                             Ex-  1)Sit down.

                                   Sit down, won’t you?

                                 2) Come here.

                                    Come here, will you?

                              

 3) Write down.

                                   Write down, will you?

                                4) Bring your book.

                                Bring your book, won’t you?

 

 

V) नकारार्थी वाक्य (Negative sentence):-

नकारार्थी वाक्य म्हणजे ज्या वाक्यात no, not, never, none, nobody, nothing, neither, nor, इ. शब्द येतात. अशा वाक्याला Q.T. मध्ये n’t (not) लाऊ नये.

                            Ex-  1) Boys are not playing.

                                Boys are not playing, are they?

                               2) She isn’t here.

                                   She isn’t here, is she?

                               3) I am not fool.

                                   I am not fool, am I?

                               4) Nobody has book.

                                         Nobody has book, has anybody?

Practice questions-

1) She simply sat there quietly.

2) He is one of the greatest scientists of this country.

3) I cannot forget that look in her eyes.

4) He wasn’t sure he could persuade the crowd.

5) This does not mean that the book is filled with heavy grammar.
