Fruit of Being Ungrateful
Once upon a time rat was strolling through the city in search of food. It was walking from the corner of
the road to hide itself from others. Yet a cat came across
this rat & started following the rat. In order to save the
life, the rat approached one saint & narrated him its story & begged
for help. The saint used his divine power & gave the rat a dog's face.
The rat got pleased. After expressing its gratitude, it
started moving freely. After a few days a lion saw this rat
having a dog's face and it started following this dog. The dog again approached saint. This time saint
gave it a lion's face. This lion went to jungle thinking that now it has not to fear anybody. It started
destructing everything from the jungle. On seeing this destruction, all the animals from jungle got
frightened. However nobody had any remedy for this. The lion felt that it has now become
omnipotent. It
thought that if some rat like me goes to that saint & gets converted into a
lion then there will be a great risk. Fearing this risk the
lion went to the saint to kill him. The saint could read its mind & in a very short moment it
again converted that lion into a rat. The lion received a
punishment because it misused its power.
Moral: One should not be ungrateful to a person who extends a helping hand.
कृतघ्नतेचे फळ
एकदा
एक उंदीर अन्नाच्या शोधात गावातून फेरफटका मारत होता. कोणी पाहू नये म्हणून तो रस्त्याच्या एका कोप-यातून चालत होता. तरीही एका
मांजराने पाहिलेच आणि त्याचा पाठलाग करू लागले. जीव वाचवण्यासाठी पळता पळता तो एका साधूकडे गेला
आणि त्यांना आपली कहाणी सांगून मदतीची याचना केली. साधूनी त्याला आपल्या दैवी शक्तीने कुत्र्याचे रुप दिले. उंदीर खूश झाला.
साधूचे आभार मानून तो बाहेर पडला आणि मुक्त
संचार करू लागला. काही दिवसांनी एका सिंहाने
त्याला पाहिले आणि त्याचा पाठलाग सुरू केला. कुत्रा
पुन्हा त्या साधूकडे गेला. यावेळी साधूनी त्याला सिंहाचे रुप दिले. आता आपल्याला कोणाचाच
धोका उरला नाही असे म्हणत तो सिंह जंगलात गेला. तेथे त्याने विध्वंस करायला
सुरुवात केली. सिंहाचा मस्तवालपणा पाहून सर्व
प्राणी भेदरले. पण त्यावर
त्यांच्याकडे काहीही उपाय नव्हता. सिंहाला वाटले आता आपण
सर्वशक्तिमान झालो आहोत. आपल्यासारखा एखादा उंदीर त्या साधूकडे गेला आणि त्याच्यावरही
साधू प्रसन्न झाले तर आपल्याला धोका होईल. म्हणून तो साधूलाच खाण्यासाठी
त्यांच्या झोपडीत गेला. त्याच्या
मनातील विचार ओळखून साधूनी त्याला क्षणार्धात पुन्हा उंदीर केले. शक्तीचा गैरवापर केल्याची त्याला शिक्षा मिळाली.
तात्पर्य: जो आपली मदत करतो
त्याच्याशी कधीही कृतघ्न होऊ नये.
